Dataset Description

This dataset represents child victims of kidnapping & abduction cases across different cities. The victims are classified into three age groups:

  1. Below 6 Years

  2. 6 to 12 Years

  3. 12 to 16 Years

For each age group, victims are further divided by gender:

  • M = Male victims

  • F = Female victims

  • Tr = Transgender victims

  • T = Total victims (sum of M, F, Tr)

Research / Analysis Questions for Students

  1. Descriptive Analysis

    • Which city reports the highest total number of child kidnapping/abduction cases?

    • What is the age group most affected across all cities?

    • Are female victims more than male victims across all age groups?

  2. Comparative Analysis

    • Compare the kidnapping cases between below 6 years and 12–16 years age groups.

    • In which city is the gender gap (Male vs Female victims) the widest?

    • Which city has the highest proportion of transgender child victims?

  3. Trend & Pattern Analysis

    • Do cases increase with age group (below 6 → 6–12 → 12–16), or decrease?

    • Are urban cities reporting higher abduction rates compared to semi-urban/rural cities?

    • Which age + gender group (e.g., Female 12–16) is most vulnerable?

  4. Statistical / Visualization Tasks

    • Create a heatmap showing cities vs. number of child victims by age group.

    • Plot a stacked bar chart of male vs. female vs. transgender victims across all cities.

    • Calculate percentage contribution of each age group to the total abductions.

  5. Critical Thinking Questions

    • What socio-economic or cultural factors might explain differences in kidnapping/abduction cases across age groups and cities?

    • Based on the dataset, what preventive measures could be suggested for the most vulnerable groups?
